Really damaged hair??

I have thick, unruly, curly hair and I straighten it or use some sort of hot device almost everyday. Once in a while I will "scrunch" my hair where i put hairspray and a little gel in it while its wet and then let it air dry. But its really dry and damaged. I have heard different ways to do this, but i don't want to put mayo or olive oil in my hair it at all possible. Thanks for the help!!

Really damaged hair??

I straighten my hair every day and my hair is really healthy because of these tricks:

1. good shampoo and conditioner! I use tigi which isn't so expensive. I use the kinds with the funky names such as "dumb blonde" (which i'm not a blonde) or .. i can't remember the other right now but you get the point

2. Make sure your shampoo and condition have "for damaged hair" on the label

3. You can buy a small container of reconstructing gel which you put on in the shower and leave on for five minutes and then rinse out.

4. A pre-heating spray or gel is key!!! I use the "chi" brand, because it's made especially to use before a straightening iron.

5. Also, using a good hair gel is important. I use a kind in a triangular bottle thats bright pink, but can't remember what its call (sorry)

6. Just ask your hair dresser for tips next time you go in! And make sure when you get a cut you tell them that your hair is really damaged so they will use special shampoo on you, and maybe give you a special rinse.

Well, mayo is a great conditioner- I use it once in a while. If you don't want to take this route, go to Sally Beauty and buy Loreal Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture (large jar cost about $12) and apply it to hair. Put a cap on and keep it on for half hour. Wash it out and style as normal. This is a great product and is only sold at Sally's.

Do an aphogee treatment or do a protein conditioner and stop straightening. GEEZ. No hair is unruly. Learn how to maintain it. Otherwise if you are gonna keep ironing it, you minus well let it go to waste. Pick up Curly Girl by Lorraine Massey

Last year I bleached my hair to platinum blonde and it was like straw. I finally found a product called Halo made by Graham Webb that is amazing. I use the hydrating shampoo and conditioner and it is the MOST moisturizing products I have ever used. There are also treatment products that help. http://www.halohaircare.com/products/car...

I also use super skinny from Paul Mitchell because this helps to smooth and condition. It is sort of like a leave in conditioner but it does not weigh your hair down at all.

First thing to do is stop using cheap shampoos and conditioners. I just recently was wondering the same thing of what to use when a hairdresser let me know to look at the ingrediants of my conditioner. I looked and to my suprise the first ingrediant was alcohol??? I looked at all of them in the store and it was the same thing. They actually strip all of the natural oils off your hair and dry it out worse. So first thing is to get something a little more expensive like Biolage, its really pays off. And try to not wash it every single day. Also never brush your hair while its dry, this wil break half your hair in half. Brush it wet only with a pick when there is conditioner in it. It takes longer but its well worth it. Good luck and try not to use the heat on it everyday either and in a couple of months you should see a difference. :-)

The thing you'll do perhaps is to have a hair cut. If you wear your hair long and it's really damaged you need to cut it a little short to rid of the most damaged parts then use hair conditioners like cream silk and its leave-on, its cheaper and it does leave good results. It's also working on me as I too got a bad hair.Don't mix using different shampoos and conditioners as your hair and your scalp needs to adjust to different ones. You have to stick to one.If it doesn't work then that's the time you have to change it. I really don't like using a lot of hair gadgets as I believe it would just destroy the natural growth of the hair.

If you are not into natural hair remedies, you can try some commercial hair treatment, put it on your hair and let it sit for a couple hours before washing off, it really helps. Here are the products I have been using and my reviews: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?optio...
