i have straight/wavy hair. it's very unmanageable. scrunching with gel looks horrible. should i get a perm??????

try using a conditioner to manage your hair, but if you want to have curly hair, you can have your hair permed :D

I do and since my hair is like yours it looks great and lasts longer then most people since we have some body (wavy hair) I either get a spiral or just a regular rod perm, if you prefer curly curls go with a regular perm if you like the spiral look which is long ringlet curls that works too...I tend to switch off between the two. Everyone thinks my curls are natural and when I tell them it's a perm they usually don't believe me because they say permed hair looks dry and damaged I let my hair air dry with some treseme mouse and it looks so sexy in the morning and when I am running late and shower in the am and mouse and go it looks good too. Try a loose perm, so it's still easy to straighten your hair... Just remember that perming can damage your hair and it has to grow out... Look at a few pictures first, so you have a definite idea of what you want.

Use a few good products, like Sunsilk for straight/wavy hair (the pink bottle) before you perm...
