Perming hair that is already wavy...?

Can you perm hair that is already naturally wavy? what will it look like? will I look like a poodle? LOL! I love my hair curly, but I want real curls, and its hard to get because my hair is naturally wavy, so when i use gel and mouse and stuff like that in it to make it curly, it just goes limp and wavy ... so i just wanna know if i could perm my wavy hair? thanks

Well Ann this is a great question one that I had myself years ago when I got a perm. I have very wavy hair but just like you I could not get it to go curly. My hair did not frizz out but I have heard of that happening. I would suggest that you get a spiral because more natural and is more gentle on hair like yours. Hope I helped!!!!!
