So I know you are not suppose to wash your hair everyday and shouldn't comb out curly hair, but what else can I do with it?
I have always combed out my tight curls and braided to prevent all the knots, but it just blows up afro-style!! I need help.
I usually just straighten it out, but that's such a task by itself.
I'll leave it curly once in a while, by just washing it and then putting Sunsilk creme or gel in it, but what do I do that night because I can't comb it out with all the tangles and knots that it gets from being out.
My main question is what should I do with it the next morning? Do I slap some gel on the tangles? comb in out and then wet it? Wash my hair again? What do I do?
My friend said to just wet it in the shower every morning, comb it through and put some conditioner, but I've always heard that washing hair everyday is bad.

For the curly look I smooth some anti frizz serum on it when I wake up. It says only put a tiny bit, but i have found that if i use it a little more generously, i get better results. The serum helps a ton! What I do about washing is every other night with Redken smooth curl.
When I straighten I put my flat iron on high and use a heat protector (Chi 44 Iron Guard). This cuts the time in almost 1/2, but doesn't harm my hair.

What do I do with my super curly hair? -what's wrong with curls? half my friends straighten their hair, half curl it. they're coming back in style and are sooo much more feminine and sezy than boring straight.
-also, knotty straight hair looks awful, but you can get away with it with curls.
-you could straighten your hair of course. or just run tongs through your hair quickly to reduce the curl but still have waves.
-you mentioned 'blowing up' which is frizz.
my friends mum is a hairdresser [so jealous lol] she says to reduce frizz and calm hair:
-after shampoo-ing towel dry hair, and leave in conditioner for a few minutes before rinsing, allowing it to sink in the hair.
-after washing turn on cold water to seal in the shine.

What do I do with my super curly hair? Use a salon professional product called Aquage they have something that will tame down the curl plus it acts like a gel. It's so good. I sell it a lot in my salon and my customers love it.

and if you are willing to spend big bucks, you can ask your stylist to permantly straighten your hair.
it makes it easier for you to just run a straightener through it quickly in the morning.

What do I do with my super curly hair? although this style was kind of worn out in the nineties, maybe just pull it all up into kind of a "school-days" scrunchie. To where it is pretty low and hanging off your head but still in the scrunchie.
What do I do with my super curly hair? To be honest my daughters hair is just like yours, I love her curls but her hair will also afro out as you put it. I came across this article though posted below and it has truly helped me manage her hair, not only that it no longer afro's out. Its nice and soft and the curls lay nicely.
