Straightening hair with flat iron then applying wax?

well i was wondering about this

i straighten my hair with a flat iron and i have found a gel that holds it straight and lets me style it any way i want, but my problem is it doesn't hold much

my friend has hair wax that is just like glue and tomorrow I'm going to borrow some but i was just wondering if any of you people have ever used hair wax after straightening your hair?

will your hair curl back if hair wax is used to style it?

i just want to make sure because if not I'm not going to use his wax, I dont wanna look like something is eating my head ;]

I style my hair the same way. I use water wax! It's light, non-greasy, adds shine and washes out easily with water. You just iron your hair, rub a small amount into your palms and smooth it over your hair.

The kind I use is Redken Water Wax 03. I've tried others like Fructis, but I found them 'goopy' and weighed down my hair or made it appear greasy.

You can check it out at this link:

I don't know about your friend's hair wax; it doesn't sound like it's meant for keeping long hair straight. Yeah, it's heavy and will weigh it down, but your hair is probably going to feel yucky and sticky.

I would use a thermal product that you spray/apply on dry hair right before heat styling. These products are meant to work with heat styling, as well as protect your hair, so your hair should stay straight longer.
