What can i do to my hair for it to stay up but not look shiny and greasy?

My hair is medium lenght, but when i put gel it get hard and shiny and i juss want a more normal look that juss stay up a little.

Hair shine with Dimethicone in it. You can find it at your local beauty supply store.
