Is there any way to straighten your hair without a flat iron?

I've tried all the different methods of straightening, gels, expensive shampoos and conditioners, hair serums....anyone have suggestions. What about the Japanese straightening at the salons? I heard that is expensive and very hard on your hair.

I have super duper frizzy curly hair.

I use a Vidal Sassoon flat iron, that cost like $20 at CVS.

I use the Dove Therapy Shampoo/Conditioner for dry hair.

It's about $4 a bottle.

I've been flat ironing my hair for 10 years now, it's the only legitimate way.

You can get a chemical hair relaxer. Any professional hair salon will do them.

No matter what you try, it is a ton of work and chemicals trash your hair. Maybe try to just wash and go with a product like Mixed Chicks(http://www.mixedchicks.net) They can tame frizz without it getting sticky. You apply the leave-in they have to your hair after shampooing and just air dry. Might be worth a shot before you spend a ton on the Japanese system.
