Curly hair Problem!!!?

I have medium curly hair, when I take a shower I usually put gel or mosse in it. After it drys it looks so good in the front but then the back of my hair its really poofy!!! I love having curly hair but when I wear my hair down the back is poofy!! I tried to gel it down but it doesn't seem to work!! Also do you know any good sites for hair styles like mine?

Thanks!!

Maybe your putting the gel only on the outside layers of your hair? Try flipping you head to the floor with your hair hanging down put gell on your hair that would usually be underneath your top layers of your hair. Especially in the back. Also...

To control the poofiness try using leave in conditioners for your hair after you've had your shower, they definatly help. You can buy anti-frizz gel serem thats made for dealing with fuzziness etc. You simply put it in your hands then run it through your hair when its still wet and leave it in to dry. Also try using conditioner everytime you wash your hair. Try leaving it in for a few minutes and then rinse it out. Use conditioner on the ends of your hair opposed to the roots! Also, do not wash your hair everyday if you can stand it because when you wash your hair you wash all the natural oils that keep hair healthy down the drain. Try washing your hair every 2end day if you can. That can also help reduce frizziness. Oh and if you ever color your hair, the color won't come out as quickly if you wash it every second day. When you get out of the shower and your hair is wet (whether you washed it or not) brush/comb it out! If you wait until it drys then brush it, the poofiness and frizziness will definatly be a problem and your hair will be full of knots. I don't use gels in my hair because I don't like them. I use Infusium Leave-In Moisturizing Treatment and Heat Activated Treatment which you both spray into your hair whether it's wet or dry but I find it works better when you put it through wet hair. I sometimes use the anti-frizz serem but not often. I remember watching a video from a professional hair stylist saying that you should put conditioner in wet clean hair approx every 5 shampoos and use a shower cap to cover your hair with the conditioner in it. The heat coming from your head should condition your hair. Then your supposed to wait 30minutes, I'm not sure if you rinse it out because they don't mention if you do after that. They say you should do this because your hair gets dyed out very easily and needs deep hydration, but I have never done that before or know anyone who does but I guess if your hair is that bad you can try it. I think that is going to the extremes though.

If you tend to use heat on your hair a lot by using curling irons or straightening irons or hair dryers etc. it can damage your hair. It can also cause poofiness and frizziness especially if your hair is wet when your using heat to style it, so avoid heat for your hair as well. If you tend to use a hair dryer everytime after you have a shower then try to limit it down or buy a hair dryer with the cool air option which won't do as much damage. Overall try avoiding using hair dryers on your hair.

I hope I helped! Maybe I wrote too much... This advice goes to all people who have fuzzy hair problems and poofiness!

Hi I will be going to school for hair next year and i have a passion for it. Try using a curling spray after u towle dry ur hair. Spray it in and "scrunch" you're hair with ur hands by tilting ur head to the side. You could also use DE FRIZER. It works great. Hope this helps!

Do you sleep on your hair? my bestfriend takes her hair %26amp; puts it above her pillow so she doesn't sleep on it. I would recommend taking something to flatten the hair.. But yeah..

I used to have a problem similar to yours. My hair is curly and over years i have learned what to do. When i get out of the shower, I dry my hair some by putting it up in a towel first. I then put mouse in it and blow dry it. When you blow dry it, you will be able to see the spots you missed with mouse. With mouse, you can go back and put more in and it will be fine. After I blow dry my hair, i put a light layer of hair spray all over my hair to keep it how it is. When putting mouse in your hair, part your hair all the way down the back of your head so you know you are getting in the middle of your hair instead of the outside. Another trick for that is to shake your head then flip it down and separate the hair in the middle/back of your head and put more there.

My hair was always like that, but as it gets longer, it tames out.. I use Herbal Essence for curly hair.. its a purple bottle.. I use to use CurlVive by L'Orel but they no longer make it... Also, use a leave in conditioner with the gel and palmade...

Your probably not applying the equal amount of product on the back like on the front, have you trie other styling products? or probably your hair is more abosorbant from the back. Pantene Pro-V has a line of shampoos, conditioners, styling products specially for curly hair, since I have straight hair they leave my hair really soft and touchable. Good Luck
