I usually spike my hair right up in the front only. But for some reason, whenever I do, the spiked hair always tilts in one direction ( all right or all left) and it looks really stupid/nerdy. I tried usuing less gel, and even more gel. Ive seen guys at school whos hair is much longer and their hair spikes straight up. What can I do to make my hair spike straight up? (btw, i also use blow dryer) Any help would be appreciated, thank you

Sounds like you have a cowlick right there where you want it to stick straight up and that cowlick will not let it do so. If you have already tried the more goop and less goop tricks and the blow dryer....you may just have to live with the cowlick. Just be who you are! I bet it's not half as bad as you feel it is! In a year, your style will be 'in' and theirs won't.

do not use gel for spiking your hair! get a spiking glue or wax

My boyfriend has long hair and always does the spiky look too. He uses a blue gel called Short Sexy Hair. You can get it from the hair salons. It usually costs about $15.

I think the blow dryer might be the problem. Experiment without the blow dryer. I think that might be the key. It might make a world of difference.

The product MayQueen suggested is a great one. I recommend it also.
Start when your hair is already dry. Put the product in (you won't need much because there is no water in your hair to dilute it) and blow it dry as your direct it with a comb or your fingers in the direction you want it.
