Curling hair - which is best?

I have thin hair but lots of it (so it looks very thick and curls fall out quickly) its a couple inches longer than my shoulders. I want curly hair for this weekend (being bridesmiad) and often curl it when tongs (but it falls out quite quickly), but i have to curl it 2 hours before i even leave and then it needs to stay in all day so:

What is the best way to curl hair so it stays in for a long time - tongs or to buy curlers and leave them in over night the night beore. Should you put moose on it first or curl it dry and spray with hair spray after - i also have scrunch gel??

Any advice would be great - thank you!

Curling hair - which is best?

well first i would like to say your hair sounds lovely i would love to have hair of the thickness and shape that you just described! =)

but in answer to your question: i curl my hair using the my ghds, i dont know if you have these but if u dnt any straightners will do the same job, just the better the straightners the longer the curls last. i start with the straightners at the root of a strand of hair i then twist the hair straightners so the strand is wrapped once around them, and then i pull down while slowly making the starigthenrs vertical (the speed you go down depends on the tightness of the curls) i hope u get what i mean it is very hard to describe in words but it works for me brilliantly, and with a bit of a hairspray it lasts all day and night for me, the curls drop a little but it still looks nice. hope my essay helps:P Ohh yer and when u release the hair from the straightners twist the hair with your fingers to enhance the curl =)

When a hairdresser does an updo, they will tell you to leave your hair dirty for the day, clean hair is much harder to work with and curl. I sometimes spray the strand of hair I am curling first, not a lot of spray just barely! It causes the curl to hold.

It doesn't sound like scrunch gel would work on your hair, it would just leave it wet and stringy looking.

Good luck!
